J.A. Design, Inc. is a mechanical design and drafting service company which has successfully completed "in budget and on-time projects" for many diverse customers for the past 46 years. We have designed and have had machines built for most types of industry, including: Automatic molding machines, glass handling machinery, gyro test tables, coal preparation plants, patient manipulation devices, steel mill continuous casters, aircraft wing de-rivet cells, ship motion simulators and a uranium fuel pellet inspection machine. We have handled parts as large as 20 ton rotor assemblies and small as 1/4" dia. x 5/16" long fuel pellets. The shapes have been very diverse, from cast iron bathtubs to the irregular, non-rigid shape of a tie string on a surgical mask. Design styles range from brute force machines such as a billet strand oscillator on a continuous caster to the precision of an aircraft guidance package test unit.
In 1989 we incorporated computer-aided drafting and design (CADD) into our available services. We use several different types of software to create production drawings. AutoCad, AutoDesk Inventor Pro, Solid Edge and SolidWorks are the main CADD packages that we use.
Each one is a very powerful, versatile and still user friendly system. Drawing files are transferable to other CADD software through use of DXF files, IGES files, Parasolid files or Step Files. These types of files are widely used throughout the microcomputer industry. If you would like to see a demonstration of our system capabilities, please let us know.
J.A. Design, Inc. has the capability of manufacturing prototypes as well as production machinery through several machine shops in the local area.
We welcome the opportunity to meet with you to show you more about our capabilities. Please take a moment to browse the photos of equipment and prototypes we have designed and/or built.
